How to get from airport to the hotel?

There are two airports in Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK) and Don Mueang airport (DMK), the first one being the newer, more convenient and more globally-connected.

Suvarnabhumi Airport (Code BKK) is the main gateway to Thailand for tourists. The location of Bangkok’s international airport, around 30Km east of the city centre, makes it relatively quick and easy for visitors to head straight to the island after arriving.

The airport terminal, which is one of the largest in the world, resembles a glass and concrete shopping mall. Arrivals are on the 2nd Floor, Departures are on the 4th Floor.

The 1st Floor is where you’ll head if you want to take a taxi (outside Entrances 4 – 6).

You can also use the Grab smartphone apps to get a private car from the airport to your hotel.  They offer fixed prices for cars to or from the airport.   Grab Car and Grab Taxi – available through the Grab app  – have Economy and Premium cars ( the Grab Car Plus option ) for around 400 – 600 Baht. (about 1$2-$16 ). If you order a Grab car or taxi, the driver will meet you on Level 2 at the airport NOT the 1st Floor (Level 1) where the regular taxis wait.

The Airport Authority of Thailand also offers it’s own Limo service which you’ll see advertised at ‘Airport Taxi’ booths in the Baggage Claim area and Arrivals Hall.  This is quite expensive, around three times the price of a normal taxi and double a Grab Car.

Getting around Bangkok

WAT PHRA KAEV - Temple of the Emerald in English language, is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, being considered to be the most pious Buddhist shrines in the whole of Thailand.

Architecturally fantastic, the temple complex is also the spiritual core of Thai Buddhism and the monarchy, symbolically united in what is the country’s most holy image, the Emerald Buddha. Attached to the temple complex is the Grand Palace, the former royal residence, once a sealed city of intricate ritual and social stratification

 Travel to Phuket

How to get from airport to the hotel?

Transport is not included, therefore you have to make your flight arrangements to go from Bangkok to Phuket on May 28 (around $50 if purchased in advance). TIP: If you buy a multi-city flight ticket departing from your city of residence, you will probably pay more than if you buy separate Bangkok-Phuket round-trip plane tickets.

Phuket International Airport (KHT) is located approximately 33 km away from Phuket Town, taking no more than 45 minutes by car. You have 3 transport options from Phuket Airport to Phuket Town:

1) taxi — official taxis are yellow and red with a “TAXI METER” sign on the roof. Taking a taxi from Phuket Airport to Phuket Town is by far the quickest and most comfortable option. It takes no more than 45 minutes and you won’t pay more than $20 (THB 750) for a taxi to the city center of Phuket (airport surcharges and extra fees for luggage may apply)

2) private transfer — if you want to order a private transfer, you can use Airport Transfer or Phuket Private Transfer

3) bus — the orange Airport Bus 8411 runs every hour and drops you off at the Central Bus Station in Phuket Town, although waiting times can sometimes be up to 2 hours in peak season. The price is around $3.50 (THB 120)
