A visit to Thailand has been near the top of my dream trips for as long as I can remember. Imagine my excitement when Mika said....."Shall we create a beautiful retreat in Thailand"? It's a good thing she's a world away from me because I might have hurt her with the hug I had welling up inside of me at the thought! This Olympia bead retreat will be geared towards Creating, Exploring, and Pampering your mind, body and soul! We'll start off in the stunning city of Bangkok!
Bangkok is Thailand's capital city and trading center, situated beside the Chao Phraya River. It is popular for its magnificent palaces, skyscrapers, museums and markets that attract tourists worldwide. Also, adventure lovers visit this spot to explore its cultural and historical landmarks.
Yum!! Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines! It can be hot and spicy, or nuanced with fresh flavors with citrus notes. But I always feel I'm eating healthy when I enjoy a good Thai meal! Bangkok is famous for Thai street food! I'm sure we'll find plenty to eat! While in Bangkok we'll also have a lovely Dinner Cruise on the famous Chao Phraya River. allowing us a beautiful view of the city lights. We'll also visit the majestic Wat Phra Kaev - Temple of the Emerald! And visit the Grand Palace!
From Bangkok we'll take another flight to Phuket.
Phuket is famous for a number of things like exotic beaches, vibrant nightlife, colorful night markets, delicious seafood, the white marble Big Buddha, scuba diving and of course massage, meditation and healing....which will be an integral part of our Retreat! We'll be working behind the scenes to make sure you have inspiring classes in bead weaving, bead embroidery and polymer clay techniques you can use to expand your creations. Plus we'll be visiting some of the most famous and beautiful sites Phuket has to offer. And....to remind you that you're also here to be pampered, there will massages (some included in your retreat fee), meditation and relaxation on the white sand beaches with the crystal clear waters washing away any angst you may have.
Some of the sites we'll visit in Phuket will include the amazing White Buddha statue...
A visit to a sustainable Pearl Farm - where you will learn about pearls, the cultivation process and jewelry production in Thailand using these precious pearls.
Save some room in your luggage! I've heard tell there are some amazing prices to be found on pearls in this area of the world!
We'll also be taking a tour to the Phi Phi Islands! Swimming, snorkeling, or just lazing on the pristine white sands and bathing in the beautiful tropical sun, or a comfy seat in the shade with the scents of the tropics lulling you into a peaceful state of mind.....
And if you need a little extra help relaxing maybe partake in a Sabai Sabai or Thai One On, cocktail! I'll join you for that! ;)
